2 years ago today we bought a business. The first year I fumbled my way along and learned a lot. The 2nd year has been a lot more FUN!!!
Over the past year we have had lots of great experiences. One of my favorite events is the Concealed Reveal – an art auction that supports the battered women’s shelter.
Another favorite from this past year was getting to film a spot for the news as part of the CASA event.
We got to demonstrate a recipe that we submitted. Of course, we went with a cocktail!!!
I loved the way that Jenny Torrence (Serendipity and Pinkadilly’s) and Chris Page (Chinell’s) decorated our venue for the CASA event!!!
One of the things that I realized as I met with brides and other people planning events is that everyone needs decorations (linens, centerpieces, fun party pieces) and after an event people don’t know what to do with these things.
Well, last spring I started doing some research and decided that there is definitely a need for a specialty consignment store. That was the beginning of our new business –
The idea behind it is to provide everything you might need for a wedding or other event in one location.
We have dresses, shoes, jewelry, purses, gifts, linens, vases, glassware, dishes and so much more.
Please help us spread the word about our new business – YourSpecialDay.
Here’s to year 3 at the Governor’s Row House and year 1 with Your Special Day!!!
Last weekend we had a fun event at the Governor’s Row House – Katrina from Happily Ever After had a huge bridal dress sale. Spring is time to make room for the new so she brought almost 70 dresses over and invited all the area brides to come shop.
Katrina also lined up a few other vendors who set up displays for the brides to shop and get ideas from.
We enjoyed being part of this event and look forward to hosting more vendor related events in the future.
